Under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Jala Mahmoud El-Azab, Dean of the National Institute for Laser Sciences; Prof. Dr. Abeer Attia Tawfik, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Dr. Ahmed Abbas Zaki, Head of the Medical Laser Applications Department; and Dr. Haitham Samir Moharram, Assistant Professor in the Medical Laser Applications Department and Deputy Director of the Medical Laser Center, the National Institute for Laser Sciences at Cairo University held a workshop titled "Principles of Dental Implantation and Laser Applications in the Field" on November 6–7, 2024. The workshop was attended by 30 participants, including professors, assistant professors, and students specializing in dentistry. Day 1 Highlights The first day featured a series of lectures delivered by a group of specialized professors. - Dr. Mahmoud El-Reis gave a lecture titled *"Case Selection, Treatment Planning, Decision-Making for Implant Type, Placement, and Loading: Basic Protocols for Dental Implantation."* - Following the lecture, Dr. El-Reis conducted a hands-on workshop on the principles of dental implantation as a precursor to incorporating lasers into dental implant procedures. Hyatt Dental Company provided the necessary equipment and implants, allowing each participating student to place two dental implants during the training. Day 2 Highlights The second day included several lectures: - Prof. Dr. Mostafa Ghaith presented *"The Role of Lasers in Dental Implants: During Manufacturing, Maintaining Abutments, Sinus Lifting, and Managing Implant Complications." - Dr. Nermeen Youssef delivered a lecture on *"Precision Gum Surgeries with Surgical Laser Assistance." - Dr. Mohamed Anwar concluded with a lecture on *"Photobiomodulation Therapy and Its Role in Dental Implants." The workshop concluded with a practical session conducted by Dr. Haitham Moharram and Dr. Nermeen Youssef, where students were trained on live tissues using laser technology.
