The institutional accreditation from the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education (NAQAAE)
By the grace of God, and under the patronage and support of H.E. Prof. Dr. Mohamed Sami Abdel Sadek, President of Cairo University, the National Institute of Laser Sciences has obtained institutional accreditation from the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education (NAQAAE) on 24 September 2025, in addition to programmatic accreditation for the Master’s and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programs in Engineering Laser Applications.
This achievement represents the culmination of the dedicated efforts of the faculty members, teaching assistants, and administrative staff, under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Gala Al-Azab, Dean of the Institute, and Prof. Dr. Soaad El-Feky, Director of the Quality Assurance Unit, with the active contribution of the Institute’s distinguished administration, represented by Prof. Dr. Maha Fadel, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Dr. Abeer Attia, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Mr. Hassan Farouk, Secretary of the Institute, in addition to the Heads of the Scientific Departments.
Special appreciation is also extended to Ms. Mervat Hanafy, Unit Officer, the members of the executive team of the Quality Assurance Unit, the administrative departments, and all colleagues at the Institute for their valuable contributions.
The Institute further acknowledges the significant role played by students and alumni, whose active participation in quality assurance activities and exemplary representation of the Institute during the accreditation visit were instrumental to this success. Appreciation is likewise extended to community partners and beneficiary entities who participated in meetings with the accreditation review teams and shared their insights, contributing to the fulfillment of the Institute’s academic, research, and community missions derived from the distinguished mission of Cairo University and aligned with Egypt’s Vision 2030 across various interdisciplinary fields.
Obtaining institutional accreditation marks the first step toward the sequential accreditation of the Institute’s remaining specialized programs.
